Data that stays on your device

The app accesses the following in order to work. This data is never sent to Arin Works or any server. A document (PDF, image) or backup file leaves the device only when you share it, and only to the app you choose. You enter personal data belonging to others (customers, employees); it is stored on your device and you decide which document to share with whom. Data that does leave your device is described separately under “Data that is collected” below.

• Personal info — your customers' names, phone numbers and notes and your shop details are kept only on the device; when you open a reminder in WhatsApp or your SMS app, the number and the text go only to the app you choose and you send the message yourself
• Financial info — your tab, payment, till and stock records are kept only on the device
• Files and docs — account summary PDFs and the backup file are created on the device and go only to the app you choose when you share them
• Camera — the camera image is processed on the device only while reading a barcode; no photo is saved

Data that is collected

The following data leaves your device.

• Phone number — when you open WhatsApp, your SMS app or the Phone app to send a customer a reminder or to call them, that customer's phone number (with the message text) is passed only to the app you choose, and you send the message or make the call through that app; the number is never sent to Arin Works or any of our servers, and those apps handle it under their own privacy policies
• Diagnostics — on Android, when you scan a barcode in Stock, the Google ML Kit library used by the barcode reader may send usage and diagnostic measurements about how reading works (e.g. processing time, error code) to Google through Google Play services; the camera image and the scanned barcode are not sent, and this data does not reach Arin Works; Google processes these measurements under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy)

• CAMERA — To read product barcodes in Stock (to find a product or add a barcode to it)

Storage and deletion

Your data is stored in the app’s own storage area on your device. On Android, the app is not backed up to your Google account; deleting the app removes your data from the device. On iOS, app data may be included in your device's iCloud backup; that backup stays in your Apple account and never reaches us. You can export your data at any time using the in-app backup feature; the backup file goes only where you send it. The backup is an unencrypted JSON file, so keep it somewhere you trust. The data under “Data that is collected” never reaches Arin Works and is not kept by us; the company that receives it keeps it under its own privacy policy, so we cannot delete it.

Children’s privacy

This app does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date on this page changes. The current version is always available on this page.
