Data that stays on your device

The app accesses the following in order to work. Your data is never sent to Arin Works or any server. A document (PDF, image) or backup file leaves the device only when you share it, and only to the app you choose. For an optional tip, the sales report the store gives Arin Works is described under “Optional tips” below.

• App activity — the item names, dates, repair entries, return decisions and notes you enter are kept on the device, never sent to any server, and used for reminders and status lines
• Purchase history — the items, sellers, purchase and delivery dates, prices and repair costs you enter are kept on the device; the store's record of an optional tip is used only to complete the payment with the store and is not kept
• Personal info — the serial number, and any name, ID number or address visible in the receipt, invoice and warranty card images you add, are kept on the device and never sent to any server; they never appear in notifications or file names
• Photos — item, receipt, invoice, warranty card and repair form photos you take or pick are resized, stripped of location data and copied into the app's own folder
• Files and docs — PDF documents you add, the item file PDF and backup files are kept or made on the device; the app never sends them anywhere by itself, and they go to the app you choose when you share them

Optional tips

Settings › Support the app shows an optional tip when the store offers it. A tip unlocks nothing. Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS) handles the payment under their own terms and privacy policies; the app never sees your card or account details. The store gives the app a record of the purchase (such as the order number and a purchase token); the app uses it only to complete the purchase with the store, does not keep it and sends it nowhere else. Arin Works receives the stores' sales reports (order, product, amount, date, device model, country; in some countries state or province, city and postal code); they do not include your name, e-mail address or payment details. These records are kept only for accounting and tax purposes, for as long as the law requires.

Permissions requested

• CAMERA — To photograph items, receipts, invoices and warranty cards
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — To remind you before return deadlines and warranty ends, and about items in repair
• com.android.vending.BILLING — For the optional tip in Settings › Support the app (Google Play billing)

Storage and deletion

Your data is stored in the app’s own storage area on your device. On Android, the app is not backed up to your Google account; deleting the app removes your data from the device. On iOS, app data may be included in your device's iCloud backup; that backup stays in your Apple account and never reaches us. You can export your data at any time using the in-app backup feature; the backup file goes only where you send it. The backup is an unencrypted file that can include the photos you added (ZIP), so keep it somewhere you trust.

Children’s privacy

This app does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date on this page changes. The current version is always available on this page.
