Data that stays on your device

The app accesses the following in order to work. This data is never sent to Arin Works or any server. A document (PDF, image) or backup file leaves the device only when you share it, and only to the app you choose. You enter personal data belonging to others (customers, employees); it is stored on your device and you decide which document to share with whom. Data that does leave your device is described separately under “Data that is collected” below.

• Personal info — the name, phone, email, website and work address you type for a contact-card code, and contact details in your batch lists, are kept only on the device and used to make the code
• Financial info — the IBAN, account holder name and bank name you type for an IBAN code are kept only on the device; the app does not start payments
• Files and docs — CSV and image files you pick are read on the device and no copy is kept; the PNG, SVG, PDF, vCard (.vcf) and backup files you create go only to the app you choose when you share them
• App activity — your saved codes (including Wi-Fi network names and passwords), batches, label templates and printer calibration are kept only on the device

Data that is collected

The following data leaves your device.

• Diagnostics — on Android, when you read a code with the camera or from an image (including the “Try on this phone” check), the Google ML Kit library used by the code reader may send usage and diagnostic measurements about how reading works (e.g. processing time, error code) to Google through Google Play services; the camera image and the content of the code are not sent, and this data does not reach Arin Works; Google processes these measurements under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy)

Permissions requested

• CAMERA — To read QR codes and barcodes; frames are decoded in memory only, never saved and never leave the device
• PHOTO_LIBRARY_ADD — On iPhone, only to save the code image you create to Photos; the app does not read your photos

Storage and deletion

Your data is stored in the app’s own storage area on your device. On Android, the app is not backed up to your Google account; deleting the app removes your data from the device. On iOS, app data may be included in your device's iCloud backup; that backup stays in your Apple account and never reaches us. You can export your data at any time using the in-app backup feature; the backup file goes only where you send it. The backup is an unencrypted JSON file, so keep it somewhere you trust. The data under “Data that is collected” never reaches Arin Works and is not kept by us; the company that receives it keeps it under its own privacy policy, so we cannot delete it.

Children’s privacy

This app does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date on this page changes. The current version is always available on this page.
